Lukaku says that he will one day reveal the real reason of snubbing Chelsea in 2017

Serie A giant, Inter Milan’s striker Romelu Lukaku has stated that he will reveal the details of why he joined Manchester United instead of Chelsea back in the year of 2017.

The Belgian striker was playing for Everton and Chelsea wanted to sign him back to the club for a second spell in Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s then manager, Antonio Conte was a fan of Romelu Lukaku and was keen to add him to his team.

The current manager of Inter Milan who now has Lukaku in his side wanted him desperately in Chelsea but the deal never materialized. It was certain that Lukaku will eventually join Conte at Chelsea two years ago after spending about four years with Premier League club, Everton.

The move failed as he was convinced by the Premier League rivals of the blues, Manchester United to join them at the last moment snubbing Chelsea.

The move ultimately never came to fruition through and he ended up moving to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United, where he spent two years before joining Inter in a €65 million transfer deal.

“One day, when my book is finished, I will reveal all the details,” Lukaku revealed in an interview with Belgian broadcaster VTM, as per FC Inter news.

“Many things happen in the football, but it is important that the next generation have full control of their own destiny. The whole picture must be corrected.”

Conte was later replaced by Frank Lampard as the Chelsea coach two years back in 2018 and has recently acquired the services of Timo Werner this summer as the club’s first-choice striking option. Romelu moved to Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho and later after two years, he joined Antonio Conte in Inter Milan. Since his move to the Italian side, Lukaku has been phenomenal.

The centre forward featured in 54 matches for Inter across all the competitions and netted 37 times. He also completed six assists and recently he won the best player of 2019-20 season for Inter Milan.
