Liverpool could pip Chelsea to signing Brighton star Moises Caicedo this summer with the Anfield camp opening talks with the south coast outfit for their in-demand midfielder.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are out to bolster their engine room over the summer but were recently handed a setback in pursuit of Southampton’s Romeo Lavia who is said to have emerged on the transfer radar at Stamford Bridge.
Understand Liverpool have outbid Chelsea for Moises Caicedo which would also help explain Chelsea’s bid for Lavia. Suggestion however remains that Caicedo would prefer Chelsea move. More to follow #cfc #lfc

According to a report from the Daily Telegraph, it is claimed that Liverpool have bettered the £80 million valuation of Caicedo which was set by Chelsea when the Blues were in talks for bringing in the 21-year-old maestro.
Speculation of late had suggested that Chelsea were closing in on an agreement to land the new manager Pochettino’s No 1 target with the Argentine coach identifying the Brighton star as a top name on his summer shopping list.
Brighton are firm on their asking price for Caicedo with the Seagulls keen to pocket £100 million for the South American star after Declan Rice’s £105 million move to Arsenal from West Ham United earlier in the summer window.
