Chelsea booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 away win over French side Lille to complete a 4-1 scoreline on aggregate.

The home side started strong and had Chelsea stopper Edouard Mendy called into action early on to keep his side in the running by protecting the goal.
Chelsea were in for a setback around the half-hour mark with their central defender Andreas Christensen forced off the pitch with a muscle issue.
Another blow awaited Thomas Tuchel’s men following Christensen’s withdrawal as Jorginho was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box with Lille awarded a penalty after a VAR check.
Yilmaz was clinical in dispatching his effort from the spot with Lille set to head into the interval with the lead only for the visitors to reply in first-half injury time through Christian Pulisic.
Lille issued a warning for Chelsea in the second period with Jonathan Bamba’s delivery for Yilmaz unable to have the latter slot home his second of the game.
Xeka nearly have his side the lead once again as his strike crashed against the post with Chelsea on the scoresheet just minutes later to rubber stamp the win.
The build up play between Marcos Alonso and Mason Mount was sublime and the latter sent his delivery across the face of goal with Cesar Azpilicueta at the right place to find the back of the net.
