Leicester City have reportedly slapped a £68 million price-tag on Chelsea target Wesley Fofana who is in demand this summer in the transfer market.
According to a report from RMC Sport, Leicester are in no mood to sell their prized defensive talent on the cheap and will only accept offers that fall in the region of the £70 million mark with Chelsea joined by Manchester United in the chase for the player.
The 21-year-old Fofana missed the major part of the season last term but his showings since arriving at the King Power Stadium has made him one of the top defenders in the Premier League with a move to a big-six club expected to be on the cards.
Chelsea are in a dire need of reinforcements to shore up their depleted ranks at the back with both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving this summer on free transfers to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively.
Sevilla’s Jules Kounde remains the top name on the wishlist for the Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel who has his task cut out in bringing in quality centre-backs from the market in time for the new season’s start.
