Leeds United are believed to be keeping close tabs on Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley ahead of January’s transfer window which is nearing its opening.
Barkley has long been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but was retained beyond this summer by Thomas Tuchel despite the player’s uninspiring loan stint last season at Aston Villa.
The former Everton man has been used as a bit-part player by Tuchel this season and the speculation that has surrounded his long-term future in the English capital has refused to die down.
Reports from The Daily Mail suggest that Yorkshire outfit Leeds United are keen on making a move for Barkley’s services in the build-up to the winter transfer window with a loan deal understood to be the go-to option for the Elland Road club.
Leeds have been dismal early on in this campaign and could look towards the transfer market for reinforcements in the mid-year window with Marcelo Bielsa backed to bolster his first-team ranks in their quest to move up the league table.
