Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly eyeing up a swoop for his ex-Chelsea player Ruben Loftus-Cheek come the forthcoming summer.
Loftus-Cheek, despite his extended run of game time at the Bridge in recent times, has his future subject to much speculation ahead of the new season’s start with a host of clubs across Europe keen on landing his signature.
According to a report from the Italian news publication Corriere dello Sport, it has been hinted that Lazio’s search for a potential Sergej Milinkovic-Savic replacement has been zeroed down to the Chelsea man Loftus-Cheek.
Milinkovic-Savic is close to calling it quits with the Serie A giants heading into the summer and with the Serbian midfielder’s likely exit, Loftus-Cheek has emerged on the radar of his former Chelsea manager Sarri.
Chelsea’s sanctions following the Roman Abramovich saga mean that the west Londoners would not be allowed to sanction the sale of players which could put Loftus-Cheek’s expected to move away from the English capital on hold.
