Lampard Delivers Latest News On N’Golo Kante Injury

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he is a little bit concerned about his midfield engine N’golo Kante and explained that he will not be available for selection against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Kante has been one of Chelsea’s most impressive players ever since signing for the west London club back in 2016 from Leicester City. The World Cup-winning French midfielder has helped the Blues to win the Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup so far becoming one of the main figures for the club in the center of the park.

However, his absence will be felt this weekend as Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that the 28-year-old will not be available to play against newly-promoted Sheffield United on Saturday.

Chelsea registered their first win of the season and under Lampard’s era last weekend when they beat Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road but Kante picked up a knock which will force him to miss a few training sessions.

Lampard spoke to reporters and said that he hopes to have Kante fit and firing after the international break, “N’Golo Kante is not fit, so the continuation of his ankle problem and he won’t be traveling with the France squad either. I had a conversation with Didier Deschamps and we both agreed it’s the best thing for him. Let’s try and get him fit over the break. It’s a setback, of course. My focus is then to make sure he’s okay. He’s had four years of constant football at an incredibly high energy and output level. We have to get that right”
