Lampard calls upon club legend to aid the struggling Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea’s No.1 keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is about to face severe competition from the Ligue 1 new keeper, Edouard Mendy as he is about to join the Blues. But Kepa will play against Liverpool in Sunday’s match in Stamford Bridge. Chelsea has put faith in the Spaniard and expects him to perform on the opportunity he has got.

For that, Lampard has called Chelsea’s performance and technical advisor, Petr Cech in training sessions. Cech has been called at Cobham to train the Spaniard keeper before the Liverpool clash.

The 38-years old is Chelsea’s legend and has been under the sticks for a long period of time. He had the consistency which is lacking in Kepa and Lampard wants him to help the young goalkeeper in that area.

Lampard insisted that Cech’s instructions to their keeper will come handy against Jurgen Klopp.

Cech told Sport.CZ last month: “Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable.

One fan tweeted that a big performance is coming from Kepa as Petr Cech decides to take things personally.

One Blues account wrote: “Goalkeeper for tomorrow sorted.”

One even joked about Petr Cech breaking his retirement to stand between the sticks for Chelsea again.

While another tweeted: “Petr Cech has been spotted in training! Kepa is 100% winning the Golden Glove this season.”

One fan posted: “It’s good he went down to train Kepa himself. Love that. Kepa will come good soon. Plus the Mendy competition will help.”

“The club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.”

Chelsea are going to face the Reds today and will hope to draw at least if they cannot win.
