La Liga giants FC Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on Chelsea midfielder Jorginho who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer.
The Italy international maestro is yet to renew his terms in the English capital beyond the end of the 2022-23 season with speculation rife over a possible move back to his homeland.
According to a report from The Sun, Barca are keeping close tabs on Jorginho’s contract situation with and are mulling over moving in for the 30-year-old midfield man when the transfer window reopens in January.
Barcelona could strike a pre-contract agreement with the Chelsea first-team star come January and bring him in as a viable replacement for the long-serving Sergio Busquets with the Barca boss Xavi looking to freshen his engine room soon.
It remains to be seen whether the newly appointed Chelsea head coach Graham Potter steps in to avoid parting ways with Jorginho next summer or even before should the latter emerge as an influential player under Potter’s charge.
