Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma will remain at Stamford Bridge despite a bunch of rumors that he handed in his transfer request to leave the club this summer.
Chelsea is in a tight spot at the moment as they suffer a transfer ban which will not allow them to sign any players for the next two transfer windows, which is equivalent to an entire year. New Blues manager Frank Lampard has a massive task on his hands in deciding which players he wants to keep hold off and the ones that he wants to offload this summer transfer window.
The 41-year-old former England midfielder has taken up the reigns and succeeded Maurizio Sarri but following the departure of star Belgian attacker Eden Hazard, Lampard’s job has become a lot harder. Chelsea has to look into the players that they have sent out on loan and bring them back to actually help the club move forward and progress.
Last season, Chelsea loaned out central defender Kurt Zouma to Merseyside outfit Everton and the Frenchman put in some incredible displays for the Toffees. Zouma made 32 appearances for Marco Silva’s side and the fans at Goodison Park were hopeful that the club manages to snatch him up on a permanent deal in the summer
Zouma was content with regular football at Everton and there were rumors floating around that the 24-year-old handed in his transfer request to leave West London and join Everton on a permanent deal over the last week. But those reports have been categorized as rubbish and false as Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has admitted that he wants to keep hold of Zouma for the upcoming season.
But Zouma also warned Lampard that he will remain at Chelsea only on one condition that he is given regular football at Stamford Bridge. Zouma has a long term contract with Chelsea that expires in the summer of 2023 and has played a part in all of Chelsea’s preseason games until now and hopefully, it will continue into the next season.
