Chelsea FC could turn their attention towards Juventus attacker Federico Bernardeschi if the Blues are unable to finalize the signing of long-term target Kai Havertz. The German international’s move to Stamford Bridge this summer is being hampered by Bayer Leverkusen’s €90 million asking price.
Talks between Chelsea FC and the Bundesliga outfit continue to drag on with the German international’s transfer fee being the major source of contention between both parties. According to recent reports, both clubs are €20 million apart in their respective valuations for the 21-year old Havertz.
As a result, Frank Lampard is on the lookout for attacking alternatives in the event of missing out on signing the Leverkusen starlet. Bernardeschi is believed to be keen on sealing a move to the Premier League amid reports of Juventus wanting to offload the Italian international in this summer’s transfer window.
The Serie A giants are set to stage a clear-out at the club and among the many first-team players to be sold, the 26-year old Bernardeschi is one of them. He has been unable to displace any of the attacking options in Juventus’ starting XI over the past season.
La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are also understood to be interested in signing the Juventus attacker. However, Chelsea FC are in a better position to secure Bernardeschi’s transfer with the player’s desire of moving to England.
