Tuchel may be tempted to press hard for the player’s signature because of the Frenchman’s skills and abilities to play in a back three.
Chelsea’s transfer target Jules Kounde is a Manchester United target as well, and the player is on the Blues’ top transfer list for the upcoming transfer window.
As seen against Everton on Saturday, the Spanish defender has looked sluggish in some of Chelsea’s games this season, costing his club valuable points.
After Everton’s Richarlison capitalized on Azplicueta’s error to score and win the match, the Spanish international’s lost concentration.

A list of individual errors in Chelsea’s backline has cost them to fight for the title this season after heading into the 2021-22 campaign by winning their second Champions League trophy last season.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are linked with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde ahead of the season and were believed to have reached an agreement.
However, the French international would be a superior alternative for the 32-year-old Spaniard, who has already begun to show signs of slowing down.
The 23-year-old center-back is a dynamic player who can carry the ball out of the back and is also capable of playing in Azpilicueta’s position.
Chelsea were unable to reach an agreement with Sevilla last summer due to his high price tag, but with the player approaching the final 24 months of his contract, Sevilla will be willing to listen to Chelsea’s offer this summer.
Tuchel has already lost Christensen and Rudiger in his backline, so adding Kounde and Thiago Silva to the mix would undoubtedly provide some relief for the German coach.
