Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has once again added fuel to fire over the midfielder’s future in the Chelsea shirt by claiming that his client wants a return to Italy in the near future.
The Italy international, who was a hit for his country at this summer’s UEFA European Championships, has often been linked with the likes of Juventus and Napoli in the Serie A.
The 29-year-old has also grown into a major figure for the Blues in the centre of the park with his showings in midfield proving key to Chelsea’s Champions League glory last time around.
His current deal at Stamford Bridge with Thomas Tuchel’s Blues runs for another two summers and with no talk of an extension being on the cards, there is a possibility that the player could be lured to returning to his homeland.
Reports from The Express quote Joao Santos who has caused uncertainty over Jorginho’s Chelsea future in the past as well with the agent admitting that the player will make a decision following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“He has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. Obviously it would be a dream for him to return to Italy, hopefully after winning the World Cup.
“We’ll have to see what the market looks like in a couple of years and what the other situations are.”
