On-loan forward Joao Felix has dropped a hint that he wants to make his transfer to Chelsea permanent this coming summer when his loan spell is due to end.
The Portugal international signed for Graham Potter’s Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in the Janaury transfer window on a short term loan until the end of the season and has impressed the Stamford Bridge faithful so far with his displays.
Despite a forgettable debut outing against Fulham which saw Felix being given a red card, the former Benfica starlet has returned to the first team in a fantastic manner to provide the struggling Blues with that extra impetus in the attacking third.
There has been speculation over Felix’s future at the Bridge beyond the summer with Atletico Madrid expected to cash in on their record signing for a sizable fee and Chelsea are credited with a strong interest in making Felix’s switch permanent.
Speaking to Eleven Portugal ( via football.london), Felix admitted that his position for Chelsea and the style of play adopted by Graham Potter’s side was different from Ateltico and suited him more.
“The position I play, and the way we play at Chelsea is different to Atletico.
“Clearly I have more freedom to put my football into practice, to be at my best to help the team. I feel good playing here. It’s just a matter of getting results and it will be perfect.”
