Italian giants Lazio maintain a strong interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek with Maurizio Sarri keen on a reunion with his ex-Stamford Bridge player.
Loftus-Cheek stepped up in the second half of the season for Thomas Tuchel’s Blues but his future in the English capital beyond the summer continues to remain the subject of much speculation.
Serie A outfit Lazio, under the charge of the former Chelsea boss Sarri, have been linked with a move for the England international in the past and could be set to soon launch a bid for his signature.
According to the Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport, it is claimed that Sarri wants to bring in Loftus-Cheek as the ideal replacement for midfielder Sergej Milinkovic with the latter certain to leave a big void to fill should he be heading out the exit door.
Manchester United are understood to be leading the race for the Serbian international maestro Milinkovic who has proven to be one of the standout midfielders in Italy’s top flight with his displays over the years for Lazio.
