Serie A foes Inter Milan and AC Milan could be set for a major battle on the transfer front this summer with either side keen on making a move for Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Reports from Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.com claims that Bakayoko’s signing is of much interest to the Serie A duo who are in the market for a fresh midfield name.
The France international, who returns to Stamford Bridge in the forthcoming pre-season camp on the back of a loan spell at AS Monaco, is backed to be offloaded by the Blues gaffer Thomas Tuchel to free up space within his squad and raise funds.
Tuchel has a number of other names on his wishlist for the summer window but the German will need to get rid of the deadwood at the club in order to bring in a new arrival with West Ham United’s Declan Rice understood to be Chelsea’s priority target for the transfer window.
Rice has been tipped to be pondering over calling it quits at West Ham ahead of the next season and should the former Chelsea youth academy product decide to seek a move elsewhere, Chelsea are considered heavy favourites to land his signature ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
