Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has provided us with a key update regarding the injuries suffered by N’golo Kante, Pedri, and Antonio Rudiger.
The Blues suffered yet another shock result at Stamford Bridge in a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United as new boss Frank Lampard looks for his first home win as Chelsea manager. The West London side conceded two goals in the second half to share the spoils with the newly-promoted side but Lampard still did not have all of his players fit for the game.
There are a host of Chelsea players sidelined at the moment including Callum Hudson Odoi, Ruben Loftus Cheek Reece James and Marco Van Ginkel. But the 41-year-old will be happy to know that first-team regulars Pedro and Antonio Rudiger are nearing full fitness and will be able to return to action after the international break.
However, N’golo Kante might still be unavailable for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Frenchman sustained an injury in the 1-1 draw against Leicester City.
While speaking to reporters after his team drew against Sheffield United, the former England midfielder said, “I am trying to work all over the team to get the right combination and Rudiger now is fit after the international break so he gives me another choice.” I’m hoping N’Golo will be back for Wolves. The medical team has said to me that with no setbacks he should be, and that will be a big boost. And Pedro should be training by the middle of this week, so he should be fine for Wolves too.”
