Injury Update: Frank Lampard disappointed over Hakim Ziyech’s hamstring injury

Chelsea’s attacking midfielder, Hakim Ziyech was subbed off very early in their Premier League game against Leeds United after he sustained an injury.

The left-footed magician of Chelsea was limping off around 30 minutes of the game and Chelsea coach, Frank Lamaprd had no choice but to replace him. Lampard put Christian Pulisic and took Ziyech to the bench.

The 27-year-old Moroccan international fell to the ground after he passed the ball to right-back, Reece James in the build-up play to score an equalizer against Leeds United.

It was Reece James who overlapped the defender after he got the ball from Ziyech and produced a fantastic delivery which striker, Olivier Giroud netted home easily.

The news of their best midfield player’s injury is very worrying as he has been in red hot form since his last injury setback. Lampard announced that Ziyech suffered a hamstring injury after he was assessed by the club doctors.

‘It is a hamstring injury which we will find out the severity of in the next couple of days. It is obviously a disappointment going into this busy period,” said Lampard as per the Chelsea Official website.

The former- Ajax star has been very crucial for Lampard’s team in recent games and has provided a much-needed creativity in the middle of the pitch for the Blues.

Ziyech has netted two goals and assisted thrice until now in this campaign in all the competitions for Chelsea. Several pundits have pointed out that his presence will be vital for Chelsea if they want to aim for big. This injury is a big blow for the team.
