Chelsea outcast Ruben Loftus-Cheek is wanted by his former manager Maurizio Sarri who is in line to to the top job at Serie A giants Lazio and is preparing for a major transfer window with his new club.
Loftus-Cheek has failed to convince his critics at Chelsea following the conclusion of his season-long loan spell at the now relegated Fulham where he struggled for form and playing time despite much fanfare over his move away from the Blues.
With the England international facing an uncertain future at the Bridge beyond this summer’s transfer window, reports from Gianluca Di Marzio have indicated that Sarri wants to take on the forgotten Chelsea midfielder to bolster Lazio’s ranks.
The new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel who has tasted Champions League glory in his early days at the club is believed to be unlikely to stand in Loftus-Cheek’s way out of west London should an offer come in for the player who is not expected to feature in Tuchel’s plans for the next season.
Tuchel, meanwhile, is understood to be prioritising a swoop for a long-term Chelsea transfer target in Declan Rice with the Blues re-igniting their interest in the West Ham United man ahead of the upcoming UEFA Euros.
