Incoming FC Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez reportedly wants to make a swoop for Chelsea’s longstanding target Jules Kounde following his taking over the managerial reigns at Camp Nou.
The Spanish football icon is set to succeed Ronald Koeman to the top job at FC Barcelona and there is speculation doing the rounds that Xavi wants to bring in new signings to bolster an under-fire squad.

Reports from Gerrard Moreno have suggested that the Sevilla central defender Jules Kounde, a player who has been tracked by Chelsea since this summer, is a top name on the shopping list for Xavi.
Kounde failed to seal his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer with Thomas Tuchel’s Blues camp and Sevilla playing hardball on their pricing concerns but it is understood that the Chelsea boss remains keen on landing the Frenchman.
Tuchel, however, will now have fresh competition on his plate to lure away Kounde from Sevilla with FC Barcelona and Chelsea’s rivals in the Premier League Manchester United joining the race for the 22-year-old’s services.
