Arsenal great Ian Wright has tipped Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher for a bright future at Stamford Bridge following his recent exploits in the Premier League.
Gallagher made the move to Crystal Palace in this summer’s transfer window from the Blues in a season-long loan deal and the playmaker has been in stellar form for his new colours.
The 21-year-old has scored twice and registered one assist for Palace across his eight outings so far this campaign and has proven to be a good piece of transfer business for the Selhurst Park outfit.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had been keen on allowing Gallagher to leave Chelsea in the summer on a loan arrangement to further his gametime elsewhere and ex-England striker reckons that Tuchel will have a real talent on this hands in the near future.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty show ( via Metro), Wright has backed the Chelsea loanee Gallagher to become a standout player for the west London giants following his successful loan stints away from the Bridge.
‘Being a Chelsea fan, he’s obviously driven to try to get back there and be where he wants to be.’
‘Gallagher is one of those players – when I watch him, he’s never less than seven out of 10. He’s consistently good in every game I’ve seen him play.
‘Obviously, he has had to go on loan. [But] he’s showing Chelsea exactly what he’s got. Now you can’t ignore him.
‘I think for him, it’s even tougher. Because he’s had to go out from Chelsea, go somewhere like West Brom who got relegated [despite] being the best player there, come to Palace and still be the standout. It’s unbelievable how he’s doing this.’
