How Chelsea will line-up against Grimsby Town?

With both Christensen and Rudiger out with injury, Zouma will get another opportunity to stake his claim to be in the first choice starting eleven for Lampard. The French international started the game against Liverpool on the bench but came on for Christensen in the first half.

With Lampard likely to rest Fikayo Tomori after he started the last three games four games for Chelsea, youngster Marc Guehi will get a chance to impress. Guehi famously was captain for the under-17s as they won the World Cup in India.

With Jorginho and Kante likely to be rested Gilmour will be given an opportunity to impress. Frank Lampard was criticized for bringing on Gilmour against Sheffield United, a game in which they drew 2-2 after conceding two goals in the second half.

Kovacic will continue in the base of midfield with Chelsea thin the holding midfield role.

Ross Barkley

Ross Barkley is behind Mason Mount in the pecking order but will get another opportunity after failing to impress in his substitute appearances. Barkley will be under pressure after his penalty miss against Valencia

The USA international has been out of the team recently but will get an opportunity against Grimsby Town to stake his claim for starting berth.
