Chelsea beat Norwich City 2-3 on Saturday at Carrow Road in what was a hard-fought victory for Chelsea. Young Blues forward Tammy Abraham scored the winner on the 68th minute after Chelsea lost their lead twice.
Chelsea so far this season have looked most vulnerable after conceding a goal and Lampard will need to sort out the defense if Chelsea is to have any hopes of making the top four in the premier league.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have looked disorganized out of possession and will need to be more compact especially against better opposition. Lampard will hope Rudiger is fit for their clash against Sheffield United but might choose to start him after the international break, Rudiger is comfortably Chelsea’s best defender and his return should provide more stability at the back.
Lampard will also hope to have Kante fit for their next match after he picked up an ankle injury and was ruled out of the clash against Norwich. Kante provides more protection to the back four and Lampard will be happy to have him back after watching Chelsea’s first goal against Norwich where Cantwell went past Jorginho too easily. Lampard will need Jorginho to contribute more defensively if he is to be picked when Kante returns.
Upfront, Chelsea will be boosted by the return of Callum Hudson-Odoi who has returned to full training after picking up an injury at the end of last season. Chelsea will be excited by the prospect of Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi on the wings but will want them to score goals regularly.
Willian has been criticized for his cameo appearances against Leicester and Norwich and Lampard will expect more from him off the bench especially as he has the ability to go past players easily with his turn of pace.
A major positive for Chelsea against Norwich was Tammy Abraham scoring two goals. Abraham will want to continue his scoring when Chelsea play Sheffield United and Lampard will expect him to score goals against tougher opposition.
