The menace Timo Werner -Kai Havertz duo is capable of creating is lauded by the Southampton boss, Ralph Hasenhuttl. He clearly states that the summer signings of Chelsea are capable of set the Premier League on fire and their opponents should be warned.
Werner scored twice while Havertz also unlocked his Premier League account. On Saturday, the Stamford Bridge witnessed the Chelsea of Frank Lampard that made a draw of 3-3 with Southampton.
While Werner was in RB Leipzig, Hasenhuttl was in charge and so he is well acquainted with him and more so after signing the Germany striker. The international team-mate of Werner, Kai Havertz arrived over the summer in west London in a move that saw more than £70m for Chelsea than he settled with for Bayer Leverkusen.
Hasenhuttl reported that he knew the instant would arrive when he would score his first goal in the Premier League. He just expected it to not be against their wishes.
The manager agreed that it is formidable to defend against him. If one is not hard on Timo and Kai Havertz, they have the capability to kill you. Nonetheless, he is happy that Timo is in England and playing in the Premier League.
Hasenhuttl said as per Metro news, ‘I knew the moment would come that he scored his first goal in the Premier League. I hoped it would not be against us.
‘When you give him space, it’s hard to defend against him. The first goal we made it too easy for him.
‘It’s tough to defend against him. When you are not tight on Timo and Kai Havertz they will kill you. But I am really happy that Timo is in England and playing in the Premier League.’
‘He’s fantastic for the fans, but it’s good we took a point as otherwise, I wouldn’t be so happy for him’, he stated.
In the meanwhile, Lampard nudged his Chelsea team after they were pegged back by Southampton, to be more distant. The Saints made a comeback after Chelsea was in a 2-0 lead to finish the scoreline 3-3.
