Graham Potter’s efforts to convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay prove futile

Chelsea manager Graham Potter’s efforts to convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay put at Stamford Bridge could be set to prove futile with the latter mulling over an exit.

MLS outfit Los Angeles FC are said to be interested in acquiring the Chelsea striker’s signature with the American club in the market for for a big-name forward to replace Gareth Bale who retired last month.

According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that the Blues head coach Potter has attempted to reassure Aubameyang that he has a place in the Chelsea squad but that has not deterred the player from seeking an exit route.

The 33-year-old cannot play for another club for the remainder of the 2022/23 season after having turned out for Chelsea and Barcelona but a move to the MLS, where the new campaign commences in February, could work out for the ex-Arsenal talisman.

Aubameyang’s prospects of getting regular first team action for Potter’s Chelsea appear bleak as ever after the Blues spent big this January to sign Joao Felix, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke to bolster their front line.
