Graham Potter refuses to comment on Christopher Nkunku’s transfer status

Graham Potter refused to comment on Christopher Nkunku’s transfer status amid speculation that the attacker was close to sealing a move to Stamford Bridge.

The RB Leipzig playmaker is said to be on the verge of joining Graham Potter’s Chelsea with a pre-contractual agreement in place for next summer as the Blues close in on landing the exciting Bundesliga talent.

Potter, however, has continued to remain coy on the situation from a Chelsea standpoint with the newly appointed head coach asserting he will not comment on the speculation ahead of his side’s game against AC Milan, as quoted by football.london.

“My answer is that I don’t speak about players that aren’t Chelsea players. It was the same at Brighton. There are a lot of names out there but I will only speak about Chelsea players and not anyone else.”

Chelsea had been keen on moving in for the ex-Paris Saint-Germain player Nkunku in the summer transfer window only for Leipzig to play hardball over the price tag and tie their first-team star to renewed terms.

The Blues co-owner Todd Boehly, who is also the interim sporting director at the Bridge, has appeared to fast-track the talks for bringing in Nkunku with other European heavyweights club keeping tabs on the France international.
