Graham Potter has no interest in signing Manchester United rebel Cristiano Ronaldo with the Chelsea boss set to look elsewhere for alternatives to bolster his squad, according to The Daily Express.
Ronaldo’s explosive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan has thrown his future at Old Trafford into a great deal of uncertainty with Manchester United likely to green light his exit when the transfer window reopens in January.
Chelsea had been credited with an interest in moving in for the Portuguese superstar back in the summer when Ronaldo had asked for a move away from United but then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel refused to sanction the transfer.
Despite recent suggestions that Tuchel’s successor in the Stamford Bridge top job in Potter would be keen to bring in Ronaldo, a top target for the owner Todd Boehly, Potter is also in agreement with Tuchel of not tabling an approach for the 37-year-old forward.
Chelsea are in dire need of attacking impetus from the transfer market to add to their options in the front line but Ronaldo does not appear to be the name on Potter’s shopping list for the January window.
