Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness praised the performance delivered by Reece James after the match and is of the opinion that the 20 years old’s impact at Chelsea has not been in limelight following Ben Chilwell’s £50 million transfer from Leicester City this summer transfer window. The football pundit, Souness believes that James is already looking like ‘the finished article’ despite his tender age.
The Blues’ fullback has received huge compliments from the legend of Liverpool and pundit Graeme Souness after his fantastic display yet again in the Sheffield United match.
The pundit made it clear about how highly he rates James due to his physical strength and decision-making ability.
“In Reece James, he’s a top player. Given his age, he’s going to get better and better,” Souness said as quoted by the Metro reports.
“I’ve not talked about his strength, his pace, his delivery, and in terms of defending he looks like he’s got that already. I think he’s got absolutely everything in his game. So for Chelsea it looks like they’ve won the lottery in the full-back positions.
“He looks like the finished article already at 20,” he added.
The 20-year-old England international has just played his debut match for his national team and also has collected praise from Gareth Southgate, the coach of England.
Players like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have all developed quite good under Lampard, but James is arguably the best out of all who is currently determined to cement his position in the first team.
