Gary Linekar suggests to move Alexander Arnold to accommodate a position for Reece James

England legend, Gary Lineker wants the coach, Gareth Southgate to find a way to put both Chelsea’s Reece James and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold in the same starting XI.

Chelsea young full-back Reece James massively impressed in England’s Nations League game against Denmark last night. But his impressive display couldn’t prevent England to lose the match 1-0.

Southgate’s team played with 10 men on the field for the majority of the game due to Harry Maguire’s dismissal as he received a second yellow card. It was the former EPL star, Christian Eriksen who scored the only goal through the penalty to give his team the desired win in the Wembley Stadium.

But the defeat doesn’t overshadow his performance for the England team. The young right-back certainly worked off in his first start for England’s senior national team and the whole England team is elated with his superb form.

The 20-year-old was arguably the best player on the pitch as he slotted into a right wing-back position in a very effortless manner. He posed as a dangerous yet creative threat for the visitors as he put some eye-catching crosses into the opposition penalty box. Also, his free-kick nearly missed the target.

Seeing all these, Lineker took Twitter to urge the England coach to put Reece more into the starting XI rather than using him more as a back-up for Alexander Arnold.

His suggestion is to put Reece in his natural position and use Arnold in the midfield region. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best out of the lot in terms of creativity on the ball and this idea can open up a spot for James to start.

James has only earned his first three caps as he has highly impressed in Chelsea under Frank Lampard too this season.

It is so remarkable that pundits are suggesting to move Alexander-Arnold to put James in the England starting XI.
