Gabby Agbonlahor is of the opinion that Chelsea need to replace Kai Havertz with a more physical presence in the final third of the pitch.
The Blues have spent in excess of 500 million over the last two transfer windows to bolster the squad but they remain short of a potent threat in front of the goal which could be the priority for Graham Potter this summer.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor said that Chelsea could look to sign Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane with Kai Havertz not an out-and-out No.9 for his side.
“[Chelsea are] missing a ruthless striker. Put Harry Kane in that team, put [Erling] Haaland in that team, imagine the chances they’d score.
“Havertz, for me, is lightweight. He’s a big lad, but gets bullied on the ball. He’s not an out-and-out number nine and is more a number 10. [But] they’ve got [Cristopher] Nkunku coming in the summer.”
Chelsea are set to land Cristopher Nkunku in the summer after a transfer for the France international forward was agreed upon with RB Leipzig last year and his arrival will provide Potter with much-needed fresh blood in the front line.
Scoring goals has been a problem for the Blues this term with their attacking signings in Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failing to impress since their move to the Bridge last summer.
