Frenkie de Jong’s camp are said to be committed to reject a move away from Barcelona this summer in a setback to Chelsea’s plans of signing the midfield maestro.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have been serious in their efforts to land De Jong’s signature with Barcelona keen to cash in on the Holland international to ease their increasing troubles on the financial front.

According to a report from ESPN, however, De Jong and his representatives have held firm on their decision that the 25-year-old midfielder wants to stay put at Camp Nou beyond the transfer window this summer.
Clearly, it remains to be seen how De Jong’s wage situation plays out before the summer window slams shut with Barcelona hoping that the former Ajax starlet agrees to lower his pay package in order for the club to register new signings.
Chelsea were late entrants in the race to sign De Jong but the Blues emerged as strong contenders for the wantaway Barcelona first-teamer with Manchester United unable to offer their top target the chance to play in the Champions League.
