Chelsea’s manager, Frank Lampard is considered the greatest player to play in the club’s history. The former midfielder’s tremendous goalscoring records and his uniqueness as a game-changer made him a very dangerous player for the opponents to face in his prime.
When asked about some of the biggest moments of his footballing career at Stamford Bridge, he says that he has been unable to recall them.
‘Christine my wife jokes at me all the time because she will go “Do you remember that? Do you remember when we traveled on the way back from Bayern Munich when you won the Champions League and Drogba was dancing and all that?”
‘I can hardly remember a thing, it’s something that I don’t get upset about, but I just wish I could have those moments.
‘I am so bad with those things, and it’s a really strange phenomenon for me.
‘Even though I know I have been like that, and I want to sit and take a moment, I still don’t do it. I still don’t,’ said Lampard to Eddie Hearn in No Passion, No Point.
He has won a total of three Premier League titles with the Blues in 2005 and defended it successfully in the following year. He won the league again in 2010 which was his third time for the club.
Alongside the EPL titles, the Chelsea legend has won two League cups and four FA Cups as well. But none can be greatest as winning the Champions League of the 2011-12 season. 2012-13’s Europa League was the last title that the current Chelsea coach, Lampard has won before retiring as a footballer.
Lampard is the only player who is in the top five list of both highest assist maker and scorer. In all the competitions, Lampard has netted 177 goals and assisted 102 times as a Chelsea player.
Popular coach, Antonio Conte has praised Lampard and said that he posses the ability to become a great coach as well. Lampard is currently managing Chelsea in his second season after securing the Champions’ League qualification last term despite having restrictions in the transfer ban and losing star player, Eden Hazard.
