Frank Lampard talks on how teams are strengthening and the league is getting tighter

Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard feels that the Premier League is getting competitive more than ever in this campaign. Defending champions Liverpool have dropped 11 points already in the league- four points less than what they lost in the previous campaign.

Manchester City on the other hand won the Premier League in the two preceding campaigns, have tasted defeated two times as well as had four draws until now.

Tottenham and Leicester City have started this season very strongly whereas Everton West Ham’s performance has been very surprising. They have beaten top teams and are looking very solid with their squad as they have invested this summer transfer window.

Lampard’s side is sitting in the fifth position after started a bit shaky and finding a huge momentum thereafter. He is just three points behind league leaders Tottenham and Liverpool who are on the same points. His side tasted 1-0 defeat in their latest Premier League away match against Everton.

‘That’s just where we’re at this season. We’ve seen the results and we felt it first-hand at the weekend with Everton,’ said Lampard via the Chelsea’s Official website.

‘They have good players, they invested in the summer, they’re a good squad, they were well-organized and they made it difficult for us. Watching the other games, you see that all over the place. Teams are strengthening and the league is getting tighter.

‘I certainly felt our preparation into the season was slightly different so we’ve been a bit of a work in progress. We feel that we’ve already lost some points that we maybe wouldn’t have done and everyone will feel that in their own way.

‘I do think the level of the points will be less but we just have to try to make sure we maintain our levels and keep improving to stay in that.’

In the previous campaign, Chelsea was eight points below league leaders Liverpool and since they won the league, their side hasn’t secured closer than 30 points.

Frank Lampard has admitted that this campaign will see a lowest final point score than what was seen in the previous seasons due tot he extreme competitive nature of the league. Although he has said that his team is not the strongest in the league, he has stressed continuously to work hard in order to achieve the best form possible.
