Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard gave Christian Pulisic’s fitness update to the media at Cobham. He explained what the team must do as a whole to get back to the winning terms before departing for the West Midlands to play against Wolves in their away game of Premier League fixture.
The Chelsea No. 10 missed the game against Everton where the Blues lost 1-0 at Goodison Park due to a hamstring problem although he was certain to play and come up in the starting XI.
Lampard said that the U.S winger has trained with the team and he will make a decision soon about whether he will feature against Wolves or not.
‘He trained on the day we played against Everton and felt better,’ reported Lampard as per Chelsea’s Official website.
‘He’s in the squad tomorrow and it’s yet to be decided whether he starts or not. It’s obviously positive news from the weekend.’
The Chelsea coach told that he wants to wrap Pulisic in cotton wool as he is getting injured now and then continuously. Pulisic’s presence in the Chelsea squad is very crucial so he wants to manage game time for the star player.
Pulisic scored a goal in the 60 minutes he played against Leeds 10 days ago to show his value for the Blues. The board is worried about his injury problems hindering the growth of his young career and so Frank Lampard wants to take a step to protect his most valuable asset.
