Former Bayern coach Nagelsmann is the frontrunner to become the new Chelsea manager

Former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is believed to be the frontrunner to become the new Chelsea manager after Graham Potter was sacked on Sunday.

Potter was relieved of his duties a day after Chelsea lost 2-0 to Aston Villa, leaving the west Londoners 11th in the Premier League, with just 10 games remaining for the top flight campaign this season.

As the Chelsea ownership, led by Todd Boehly, look to bring in a new man in the dugout, rumour has it that the ex-Bayern Munich manager Nagelsmann is the top name on Chelsea’s shortlist of potential candidates.

According to a report from Sky Sports, chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that the Blues are keen to hire Nagelsmann but the chances of him taking the job on an immediate basis are 50:50.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, who was considered by Chelsea after Thomas Tuchel’s departure last year, and Real Madrid icon Zinedine Zidane are the other names being linked with the move to Stamford Bridge.
