Davide Zappacosta is nearing his much-anticipated move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with the Italian wing-back in line to sign for Fiorentina on loan until the next summer window.
The Chelsea outcast had been backed to call it quits at the club before the transfer window’s deadline later this month with the player deemed surplus to requirements by the new boss Thomas Tuchel.
With the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James overtaking him in the pecking order, the 29-year-old right-sided full-back was unlikely to secure regular minutes on the football pitch over the course of the newly commenced campaign.
Alfredo Pedullà has claimed that Serie A outfit Fiorentina are on the verge of an agreement with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea camp over signing Zappacosta this summer in a season-long loan deal that will be valid until the 2022 summer window with a buy-option expected to be included.
Zappacosta is tipped to extend terms with the Blues before heading out on loan with the Italian set to be followed by another Chelsea fringe player in Tiémoué Bakayoko who is set to make the move to AC Milan.
