Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keeping close tabs on wide player Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer with Sarri now in charge of Serie A giants Lazio.
Hudson-Odoi is not a permanent fixture on the Chelsea teamsheet and could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the ongoing transfer window should Thomas Tuchel’s camp receive the right bid.
Reports from Italian news outlet Il Messaggero claim that Sarri is keen on a reunion with his former Chelsea player who is seen as an alternative signing to Lazio’s long-term target Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic.
The 20-year-old Chelsea talent had been a major presence for the Blues under Sarri who led the London giants to Europa League glory back in 2019 but was given the sack soon after as club icon Frank Lampard took over the reins.
With Sarri on the lookout for star names in the transfer market to rebuild his first-team ranks at his new club, Hudon-Odoi could be one player from Sarri’s former camp who could make the move to Italy for a regular starting role.
