Welsh international Ethan Ampadu, who has courted interest from many clubs this summer, is adamant on staying at Stamford Bridge. The 19-year old’s potential has caught the eye of a number of teams wanting to sign the Chelsea FC youngster on a loan deal.
However, Ampadu is set to turn down any offers from other sides in the hope of making his way in the Blues first-team squad next season, according to reports. The youngster is believed to be keen on breaking into Frank Lampard’s side rather than spend another season on loan away from Stamford Bridge.
Ampadu had been loaned to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig last season, however, the player failed to make a major impact on Julian Nagelsmann’s side despite the German club’s strong showing this past year.
Nevertheless, the 19-year old is kept in high regard by Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC. There is the possibility of the Blues coach retaining the Welsh prospect at the club amid several clubs eyeing a loan move for the defensive midfielder.
With Ampadu being equally proficient in midfield as well as defense, Lampard could have a great squad-rotation option at his hand if the player stays put at the club beyond this summer.
