Espn official, Steve Nicol thinks that Chelsea’s highest-paid summer signing sensation, Kai Havertz drifts in and out of matches quite frequently.
The attacking winger joined the Stamford Bridge from the German club, Bayer Leverkusen after a fascinating display in his tenure in the German league. He establishing himself as one of the most exciting prospects and is also termed as a generational talent by many pundits. Chelsea board was keen to land the young player in their team to bolster their attack.
Although Havertz made a bit of a quiet start as he continues to adapt to the new league and settle in at his new club, he has the potential to be a star player for Chelsea
But Nicol has pointed out some of the negative or poor aspects of his game. He suggests that the German international disappears a bit too much from the game as he has noticed him for the German national team as well as for the Blues.
“It’s weird with Kai Havertz,” the ESPN pundit said as per the Metro reports.
“Some of the things he did against Turkey were really delicate and simple and well-executed. But then he disappeared for long periods so he kind of played the way he does for Chelsea.”
“He’s kind of nowhere and then he will have a lovely touch or a nice pass with the perfect weight. He will do something that keeps you interested.
“Officially he had two assists but he was in and out of the game and that’s not what you would expect from a guy who has cost so much money.”
Chelsea fans and the coach thinks otherwise. Coach Lampard has mentioned clearly that he won’t put any extra pressure on the teenager and is not yet panicked. He considers that the 21-year-old still learning the game whilst adjusting to playing in English Premier League
The Blues coach, Frank Lampard has managed his team full of youngsters quite efficiently till now. But he would surely expect some match-winning performances from Havertz as the season will tend to end.
