Declan Rice could make his long-awaited move to Chelsea next summer with the midfield maestro tipped to stay put with West Ham United for the upcoming campaign.
The England international has been heavily linked with a move away from The Hammers in this summer’s transfer window with Chelsea eager to make an approach and land their former academy product.
According to TalkSport, however, Rice, who is in line to take over the captain’s armband from the outgoing Mark Noble at West Ham, is likely to give one more year to his stint with David Moyes’ side before linking up with Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel is believed to be in the transfer market for a new midfield player to reinforce his options in the centre of the park and uncertainty looming over first-team regular Jorginho’s future has made Rice a priority target at Stamford Bridge.
With new owners taking charge of the west London giants, Tuchel will be backed on the financial front to move in for the highly-rated Rice and walk away with one of the most coveted names in the forthcoming transfer windows.
