Fiorentina have expressed interest in making a move for Chelsea FC’s forgotten full-back Davide Zappacosta. The Serie A outfit remains confident of securing the Italian international’s signature in this summer’s transfer window.
Zappacosta is most likely to be among the number of first-team players at Stamford Bridge to be offloaded by Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard ahead of the upcoming 2020-21 season. The 28-year old full-back does not seem to have a future any longer in the Blues shirt, especially with the rise of youngster Reece James.
James has emerged as a classy first-team regular under Lampard’s charge this past season at the west London club. The 20-year old right-back was awarded significant first-team involvement by the Blues manager across the 2019-20 league campaign.
The 28-year old Zappacosta had spent the entirety of last season on loan at AS Roma. However, his indifferent showings for the Serie A club meant that the Italian side were not interest in making his stay at the club permanent.
Rumors suggest that Fiorentina have contacted the player’s agent over a possible move to the Artemio Franchi Stadium. His current deal with Chelsea FC is set to run for another two years, according to reports. As a result, the Blues will be seeking an offer worth €15 million to let the Italian defender leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
