Chelsea center back David Luiz has admitted that he will miss Robert Green the most as the veteran goalkeeper ended his one year stay with the club.
The Blues have lost a few key members from the club this summer as Eden Hazard has joined Real Madrid in a stunning £132 million deal and even Maurizio Sarri left the club in order to return coaching in the Serie A with Juventus.
The West London outfit will also suffer a transfer ban which will not allow them from signing any players for two transfer windows. But David Luiz has admitted that there is one player that he will miss the most for the upcoming season and it is a shocking admission.
The 32-year-old Brazilian took part in a Q&A on Sunday on the official Chelsea website and was asked who the best player was towards the end of the season and his answer surprised many as he replied, “Robert Green. Because to see the passion he had for training after a long career knowing already he was going to retire and did not play one game in the season, but having the same passion, was for me someone to admire.”
Green did not make a single appearance for Chelsea last season and his signing last summer was quite a surprise to many fans and pundits. The 39-year-old also announced that he will retire following the end of the 2018/19 season ending a professional goalkeeping career that spanned 20 years.
