Darren Bent has backed Manchester United contract rebel Paul Pogba to make the move to rival club Chelsea in the summer window.
The former England international striker believes Pogba would be a perfect addition in the midfield ranks for Thomas Tuchel’s Blues alongside his France teammate N’Golo Kante.
Speaking to TalkSport ( via football.london), Bent said that the Manchester United maestro can prove himself as a much better player out there on the pitch should he join Kante in the Stamford Bridge fold come the summer.
“When Paul Pogba plays alongside Kante he looks like a completely different player, if they [Chelsea] were to sign him…wow.”
Chelsea could be forced to dip into the transfer market sooner rather than later for reinforcements in midfield with speculation rife over the long-term future of star player Jorginho amid rumours of Juventus weighing up a move for the Italy international.
The Serie A outfit are pondering over touching base with Chelsea for Jorginho’s signature with the midfielder’s contract at the Bridge due to run out in less than 18 months and no headway made on the extension front between the two parties.
