The latest reports have claimed that Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater could be on his way out of the club amid interest from Brighton this summer.
With the transfer window having only a few more days remaining, most of the top clubs are set to finish off their transfer business and head fresh into the start of the new season. A new era dons at Chelsea football club as former England midfielder Frank Lampard looks set to take up the job at the helm and rewrite his name in the history books.
Lampard takes over a Chelsea side that is unfortunate to really endure a transfer ban which means that the club cannot really sign any players for two transfer windows. But this does not mean that the West London outfit will not be looking to sell any of their unwanted players at the club.
One player whose future at Stamford Bridge looks done and dusted is English midfielder, Danny Drinkwater. The midfielder arrived at Chelsea from Leicester City two seasons ago in a £35 million deal after helping the Foxes to win the Premiership prior to that season. But it has been a nightmare spell for Drinkwater at Chelsea after he made the switch to Chelsea as he has managed only five games across two seasons for the Blues.
Drinkwater also caused Chelsea a few off-field problems with his drink driving issue and his injury woes have not helped his cause either. The midfield engine is not anywhere close to the first team and Chelsea could rather offload a player that does not make sense to keep hold at the club.
Brighton is keen on signing Drinkwater on a season-long loan as they look to improve on their squad and try to compete near the bottom half of the table.
