Danny Drinkwater Injured For Upto Six Weeks

Chelsea’s on loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater has suffered a freak injury just after joining Burnley and will reportedly face upto six weeks on the sidelines.

It’s just not going right at the moment for Danny Drinkwater following his loan move from Chelsea to Burnley as the midfielder suffered another fresh injury setback.

The Englishman did not feature at all last season for Chelsea when Maurizio Sarri was in charge of the Blues and new boss Frank Lampard decided that it was time for Drinkwater to go out on loan as the 41-year-old did not have any plans to play the former Leicester City star on a regular basis.

Drinkwater joined Burnely on loan and has still not made a Premier League appearance for Sean Dyche’s side until now. But it seems like the injury-prone midfielder will have to wait for over a month to make his debut for the Clarets after picking up an off-field injury away from the training ground.

The 29 year-old reportedly suffered an ankle injury which will keep him out of action for at least another six weeks at Burnley. Drinkwater made only one appearance for Burnley in a recent EFL League Cup encounter against Sunderland but will be able to return by an estimate of around mid-October.

Drinkwater signed for Chelsea back in 2017 on a five year deal from Leicester City but managed to play only 23 times for the London club across two seasons.
