Danny Drinkwater Beaten up By Thugs

According to the latest reports, Chelsea on loan star Danny Drinkwater was involved in a scruff with thugs just outside a nightclub after trying to chat up another footballer’s girl at the bar.

Drinkwater tried to revive his footballing career after leaving Stamford Bridge and joined Sean Dyche’s Burnley but things seem to have gotten worse for the Englishman following his loan move to Turf Moor. The 29-year-old midfielder was reportedly involved in a scrap with a fellow professional footballer from Scunthorpe United’s Ngosi Nthle at Manchester’s Chinawhite club and eventually saw himself being escorted out by security after boozing heavily.

The reports claim that Drinkwater crowed, “I don’t care, mate, she’s coming home with me”, after Nthle repeated told the Burnley midfielder to keep away from his girlfriend. Outside the club, Drinkwater was then set upon by a gang of up to six men who attacked him with a blunt object and also jumped on his feet shouting, “Break his legs”.

The attack on a Drinkwater left him has now left him with a torn ankle ligament that could keep him out of football action for up to four weeks.

Drinkwater has suffered a black eye, a swollen head and a cut in his cheek as well but the ankle injury has now been clarified that that was caused by the vicious attackers.
