Chelsea make the travels to Selhurst Park this weekend to take on Crystal Palace in the first Premier League game for the Blues under their new head coach Graham Potter.
Potter’s first competitive game in charge was against Red Bull Salzburg prior to the international break with the result a 1-1 draw in the Champions League group stage fixture.
Let us now have a look at how Thomas Tuchel might set up his Chelsea side against Palace –
3-4-2-1
Edouard Mendy is expected to be the man between the goalposts for the visitors to Selhurst Park with the Senegalese hoping to bounce back from his below par showings early on in the season.
In the three-man defensive lineup for Chelsea, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana should be joined by the veteran Thiago Silva who looks likely to pip Cesar Azpilicueta to the starting role.
The engine room should have Jorginho and Conor Gallagher with Potter not expected to force N’Golo Kante back into action following his spell on the sidelines with an injury.
In the attacking third of the pitch, Kai Havertz should be seen leading the line following his impressive international break with the German team.
