The Eagles are now in the pole position to land the signature of Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher with the manager-less London outfit plotting a £15 million deal for the young playmaker.
A report from The Sun claims that Crystal Palace have reignited their interest in the 21-year-old Gallagher and want to bring him to Selhurst Park in this summer’s transfer window.
Palace show a strong interest in Gallagher for the second summer in a row
It is not the first time that the Selhurst Park outfit have expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Blues starlet who spent the 2020-21 season in a loan spell at West Brom which did not survive the drop zone.
Gallagher is once again being eyed up by Palace who are yet to appoint a manager in the aftermath of the veteran coach Roy Hodgson hanging up his boots on the final day of play last season.
Thomas Tuchel yet to make a decision over Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge
Tuchel took over at Chelsea from Frank Lampard in the early days of 2021 and it remains to be seen whether the new boss will be keen on parting ways with a player of Gallagher’s ability which makes him a standout youngster at the Bridge.
With Tuchel keen on a number of targets this summer such as Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, there is talk of the Chelsea gaffer sanctioning a number of sales to bring in the funds for his planned business.
