Chelsea are in line to lose another quality defensive youth talent in Marc Guehi who is claimed to be ending closer to signing for Crystal Palace, according to reports from The Athletic.
The Blues have already shipped out the highly-rated Fikayo Tomori to Serie A heavyweights AC Milan who were keen on landing his signature on a permanent basis after the English centre-back impressed at San Siro in the second half of last season on a short-term loan.
Guehi is yet another Stamford Bridge youngster who is set to call it quits with Crystal Palace under the newly appointed coach Patrick Vieira in pole position to snap up the product of Chelsea’s academy on a reported five-year-long agreement.
The central defender’s current deal at the Bridge runs for another two summers and Chelsea are hopeful of pocketing a sizable fee from his sale to the Selhurst Park outfit who are also hopeful of signing one more of Chelsea’s highly-promising players in Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher, the much-hyped about 21-year-old midfielder, spent the last season on loan at West Brom and drew much praise for his showings in the centre of the park for a side that ultimately failed to survive the drop zone in the Premier League table.
