Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have pinned his hopes on the Chelsea head coach Graham Potter for a Stamford Bridge switch in January when the transfer window reopens for business.
The Blues co-owner Todd Boehly had been keen on moving in for the Manchester United superstar last summer only for the then-boss Thomas Tuchel to block a potential transfer over fears of a dressing room fallout.
Tuchel, however, has since been given the marching orders by Boehly who has hired Graham Potter to the top job at the Bridge and the latter could be key to Ronaldo finally linking up with the west Londoners.
According to a report from The Daily Express, the 37-year-old Portuguese frontman is hopeful that the new manager would be willing to table an offer to sign him when the January window commences with Rolando growing unsettled at Old Trafford.
He has been left out of Saturday’s meeting between Chelsea and Manchester United after he refused to come off the bench in United’s midweek win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
